Will the sandbar be dry?
Only when the tide is low enough. At higher tide the connecting sandbar can be under water. Choose the boat for its whole itinerary; a dry sandbar crossing cannot be guaranteed.
Take it slowly
The exposed sand and shallows are beautiful, but do not cross against the crew’s advice. Protect yourself from the sun and leave shells and wildlife where you find them.
Tup, Tub and Talay Waek
Tup is also written Tub in English. Talay Waek refers to the tide-dependent sandbar scenery around Tup, Mor and Chicken Island. The names can describe the same part of the day rather than separate bookable attractions.
How to choose a departure
Ask which time window your boat expects to reach the sandbar and how the captain adjusts the route if conditions change. A private charter lets you discuss priorities, but the captain still decides what is feasible. Choose a trip you would enjoy even if the sand is covered.
